The 13th Summer University of Asset Management (UeAM), organized by the House of Finance of Université Paris Dauphine – PSL, in partnership with BoursoBank and Sanso Longchamp AM, will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Université Paris Dauphine – PSL.
The "Silver Tsunami" illustrates the scale of today's demographic transformation: persistently declining birth rates, increasing life expectancy, and rapidly ageing populations. By 2050, the number of people aged over 60 is expected to double, placing increasing pressure on healthcare systems, pension schemes, and economic stability, against a backdrop of slowing economic growth and labour market tensions. While productivity gains could partly offset these effects, they remain uncertain in the face of profound demographic changes.
At the same time, these trends are creating new opportunities, particularly in healthcare, long-term care, medical technologies, and automation. For the asset management industry, they require a fundamental rethink of long-term financing models and investment strategies, with greater emphasis on extended investment horizons and growing intergenerational needs.
Against this backdrop, the next edition of the Summer University of Asset Management (UeAM) will focus on these issues, exploring both the challenges and the solutions needed to support these major transitions. Organized by the House of Finance at Université Paris Dauphine – PSL, in partnership with BoursoBank and Sanso Longchamp AM, this 13th edition will bring together economists, investors, strategists, fund selectors, and asset managers to discuss the implications of demographic change and collectively explore the future of the asset management industry.
