The risk foundation

The Risk Foundation (FDR) was created in 2007 at the initiative of four academic institutions (the Economic Center of Actuaries, the Ecole Polytechnique, ENSAE and the Paris-Dauphine University) and four financial institutions (Allianz (ex AGF), Axa (ex AGF), Axa, Axa, Groupama and Société Générale) in order to contribute sustainably to the development of French research potential in all areas of risk.

Creation of the INSTITUT LOUIS BACHELIER

The Louis Bachelier Institute (ILB) is an association under the law of 1901, created under the impetus of the General Directorate of the Treasury and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. The ILB forms the ILB Network with the two foundations (IEF and FdR). The Institute takes its name from the mathematician Louis Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Bachelier, who developed the Theory of Speculation. These original ideas were used in financial markets after being linked to the notion of a hedging portfolio proposed by Black, Scholes, and Merton in the 1970s.

Published quarterly, the Cahiers Louis Bachelier present the results of research programs, hosted by the Institute and the two affiliated foundations (Fondation du Risque and Institut Europlace de Finance), in a language accessible to a wider audience than academics.

The Financial Risks International Forum explores the major transformations in finance.

“Green Finance Research Advances”

The aim of the day is to bring together academics, financial practitioners and regulators to discuss together research questions related to the integration of climate risks (more generally environmental issues) into macroeconomic modeling/forecasting and in the assessment of financial sector risks.
