Given the challenges of an aging population, the French pension system has been structurally in deficit since 2008. Capitalization appears to be an interesting lever as a complement to the current pension system, as evidenced by the growing interest in Retirement Savings Plans.
The TDTE Chair has already taken up this topic and, through its work, aims to stimulate a major debate on the future of the French pension system. This conference will seek to define the role of a 'French-style' capitalization, in support of the pay-as-you-go system, particularly by addressing the themes of outlook, needs, and transition.
Should individual and collective capitalization be expanded? Should it be strengthened by public capitalization? These questions will be debated by experts from the world of capitalization and prominent political figures.
