Gaining agility
In the highly volatile geopolitical and economic environment we are currently experiencing, institutional investors must be able to react quickly in order to avoid suffering from market volatility. They must also explore new investment opportunities to maintain an appropriate risk-return balance, in line with their liabilities and the regulatory framework they operate under.
The return of securitisation, increased support for defence and technology sectors, and exposure to certain emerging markets are among the key topics currently at the top of investment directors’ agendas at the beginning of the year.
Institutional Day is the flagship event organised by L’Agefi in the first half of the year, designed to help understand these choices and shed light on how some investors are seeking to become more agile in a highly constrained environment.
On 30 June at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris, the event will feature the Institutional Investors Forum, a morning dedicated to macroeconomic strategies and investment policies across asset classes, followed by an afternoon focused on sustainability through the ESG and Impact Investing Forum.
Geopolitical developments are expected to play a significant role in the discussions, both in assessing institutional investors’ current capacity for engagement and in measuring the impact of policies related to biodiversity, water management, and social issues.
The Forum will open with the presentation of findings from the research groups of the “Investing for Tomorrow 2030” Think Tank, organised in partnership with the media outlet ID – l’Info Durable. Sovereignty and ecological transition, mental health, and the allocation of savings towards climate-related challenges will be among the key themes discussed.
EXCLUSIVE: The day will conclude with the presentation of the annual Af2i–L’Agefi survey on the investment policies of French institutional investors.
