Summary Health behaviours often imply intertemporal trade-offs. In this context, individuals may feel more or less concerned by the health of their future selves. “Psychological connectedness” is the extent to which we feel connected with our future selves, in terms of similarity of character and life projects. We here propose to decompose time preference into three components: impulsivity. planning.
