MOBILITY IN A LOW-CARBON SOCIETY

Scientific project

The “Mobility in a low-carbon society” research initiative aims to consider the global issue of climate change at the level of urban mobility. To this end it examines industrial strategies of transition to low-carbon mobility and innovative new urban mobility technologies and services for travellers.

 

Three axes are elaborated as follows:

Consideration of the global issue of climate change at the level of urban mobility

  • Structure the governance of local public action in terms low-carbon mobility
  • Assess the potential demand for and environmental impact of innovative solutions (technological, organizational and infrastructural) for urban mobility
  • Analyse the interaction between the environmental, economic and social externalities of the local transport system

Industrial strategies for transition to low-carbon mobility

  • Understand existing carbon regulation tools
  • Analyse the innovation creation process (products, processes, organization, etc.) enabling actors to adapt to new regulations
  • Examine the strategic interactions between private and public actors
  • Promote the role of private actors in the construction of carbon regulation

Innovative new urban mobility technologies and services for travellers

  • Analyse individual mobility behaviour according to differentiated geographical spaces
  • Estimate the development potential of urban households and the environmental impact of new mobility services
  • Analyse the role of employment enterprises in determining the mobility behaviour of urban households
  • Evaluate vehicle fleet management policies
