Summary Interest in α-nonmetallocene ± olefin polymerization catalysts has grown remarkably since the mid-1990s. The literature review in this manuscript details some examples of catalysts for ethylene polymerization. A first part details the activity of imino-pyridine or bis-thiazoline systems of Pd(II). The second part of this work reports how parallel combinatorial catalysis can be used to discover new catalysts for olefin polymerization, in homogeneous or on solid support, and has led to the discovery of a new family of Ni(II) bis-(pyrazolyl)amine complexes for ethylene oligomerization (C4>84%) and a brand new nickel-based complex, very active in olefin oligomerization (50 t/mol/h)
