Summary This work is part of an agreement between the IPP and the State Secretariat for Women's Rights. It is based on statistical data produced by the Ministry of Labor's Directorate for Research and Statistical Studies (Dares) and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in the United Kingdom. Gender segregation between professions and hierarchical positions explains nearly a third of the wage gap in France. By showing that companies that feminize do not become less efficient, this study reverses the stereotype according to which this segregation reflects the fact that certain jobs or functions are better suited to men than to women. Above all, the author highlights the positive "social" effects of feminization of the workplace: increased satisfaction and confidence, improved quality of professional relations, and greater identification with their company
