The challenges of the smart city for sustainable development. The case of Morocco.

Summary Green growth is about truly sustainable development in its economic, societal and ecological dimensions. From this perspective, we address the link between the fight against climate change and economic competitiveness, particularly for Morocco, and then the conditions required for this green growth to follow a sustainable development path. This analysis of innovation for sustainable development (or eco-innovation) in Morocco is conducted by examining the challenges of the smart city. We recall that Morocco has understood that the fight against climate change represents a serious opportunity to position itself on a green growth trajectory. We question the stakes of these eco-innovations and their consequences in terms of employment and social entrepreneurship in Morocco.
