Summary French growth is insufficient to emerge from a situation of massive unemployment that began in the 1970s. At the same time, in comparison with other European countries, France is characterized by high income inequalities among all citizens and by lower social mobility. It seems to us thatămore inclusive policies[1] could at the same time raise growth, reduce income inequalities and foster social mobility.
