FLM Debate: Decoding the reform of the electricity market Cet événement est passé. 17 March @ 12 H 30 min - 14 H 00 min Speaker Anna Creti is a Professor at the University of Paris Dauphine and Director of the CEC Title Decoding the reform of the electricity market (The FLM will take place in an interview format, with Anna Creti answering questions from the Chair’s PhD students) Abstract The current system has provided an efficient and integrated market for many years, enabling the EU to reap the economic benefits of a single energy market, ensuring security of supply and stimulating the process of decarbonization. However, the system also revealed potential weaknesses. In the context of the current crisis, with high and volatile electricity prices, the economic burden has weighed too heavily on end consumers. A reform is under discussion, in particular to better protect households and businesses against high energy prices, increase resilience and accelerate the transition planned in the European Green Deal and the REPowerEU Plan.
