The Master 212 – International Affairs is pleased to invite you to the 2023 edition of its annual conference, on 20 March 2023 at 7pm.

After the straits, the Arctic and the submarine cables, the Master 212 will focus this year on the challenges of critical metals and rare earths.

Critical metals at the heart of low-carbon innovations

Lithium, cobalt, titanium or rare earths, critical metals are a major element of advanced industries, low-carbon and digital technologies. As a result, mining issues are once again becoming central to the industrial policies of developed countries.

A world on a metal drip – towards a redistribution of the cards of domination?

Nicknamed the “vitamins of the modern age”, they are nevertheless of considerable critical importance given the geographical concentration of their supply. Between attempts at critical metals diplomacy and rampant geopolitical tensions, it is therefore appropriate to (re)consider issues of strategic sovereignty.
