Launch of the Chair “Modeling Nature-Related Economic and Financial Risks”
The degradation of natural capital—biodiversity, water resources, forests, soils, and oceans—now represents a major risk to both the economy and financial stability. Yet these challenges remain insufficiently integrated into economic and financial models.
On the occasion of the launch of the Chair “Modeling Nature-Related Economic and Financial Risks”, initiated by the Banque de France and hosted by the Fondation du Risque, we invite you to discover a research initiative bringing together École Polytechnique, the ENSAE-ENSAI Group, Paris School of Economics, the French Foundation for Biodiversity Research (FRB), and CIRED (International Research Center on Environment and Development).
A leading research laboratory on the interactions between economics and the environment, CIRED is internationally recognized for its expertise in climate, energy, and biodiversity issues. Its contribution to the Chair's activities is supported by three of its parent institutions: CNRS, CIRAD, and École des Ponts ParisTech (ENPC).
Bringing together a leading French academic consortium, the Chair will develop new tools and models to analyze the interactions between nature, the economy, and finance, with the aim of informing decision-making by both public and private stakeholders.
This event will provide an opportunity to present the Chair’s ambitions, its initial research agenda, and opportunities for collaboration with organizations and institutions committed to the ecological transition.
