Green Finance Research Advances 2026: Call for Papers Now Open

The Institut Louis Bachelier, the Banque de France and the Institut de la Finance Durable are pleased to launch the Call for Papers for the 11th edition of the Green Finance Research Advances (GFRA) Conference, which will take place on December 8–9, 2026, at the Banque de France Auditorium in Paris and online.

This international conference brings together academics, regulators and practitioners each year to present the latest advances in sustainable finance research and foster dialogue between the academic community and financial sector stakeholders.

A conference dedicated to financing resilience

The 2026 edition will focus on financing resilience in a changing world, with particular emphasis on physical climate risks, nature and water-related challenges, energy sovereignty, sustainable investment after the ESG backlash, and the implications of technological and regulatory uncertainty for the transition.

Researchers are invited to submit papers on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Nature, water and adaptation finance: ecosystem restoration, nature-based solutions and financing mechanisms for resilience;
  • Physical climate risks: natural disasters, chronic climate impacts, macro-financial effects and financial stability implications;
  • Insurance and protection gaps: disaster risk financing, public-private risk-sharing mechanisms and climate-related losses;
  • Energy sovereignty and transition resilience: energy independence, strategic dependencies and green reindustrialization;
  • Sustainable investment in a changing environment: ESG, green investment strategies and transition finance;
  • Climate information, artificial intelligence and data tools: climate misinformation, AI, the environmental impact of data centres, and models, metrics and scenarios for risk assessment.

Submissions addressing other topics related to green and sustainable finance are also welcome.

Submission guidelines

Full papers must be submitted in English, in PDF format, by September 10, 2026, through the online submission platform.

The results of the selection process will be announced in mid-October 2026. Registration details for the conference will be communicated at a later date.
