The Europlace Institute of Finance

Climate, demographics, energy, digital technologies: the 21st century is undergoing transitions whose financial, economic, social, and human impacts are as far-reaching as they are lasting. Understanding the economic and financial drivers of these transitions, in order to anticipate their medium- and long-term effects — this is the mission of the Louis Bachelier research network.

Bringing together more than 60 research chairs and initiatives from leading academic institutions, the Institut Louis Bachelier relies on the resources of two foundations (IEF and FdR) to support existing programs and enable the emergence of new projects.Through its activities, the Institut Louis Bachelier fosters bridges between research and the corporate world, provides public authorities with insights into today’s and tomorrow’s challenges, and promotes the excellence of French research.

Because these transitions transcend disciplines, topics, and traditional boundaries, openness is the guiding principle of the Institut Louis Bachelier. This openness gave rise to the first French partnership-based research network in economics and finance, which today brings together more than 1,000 cross-disciplinary researchers and nearly fifty sponsoring companies and organizations from all sectors.

Thanks to this diversity, the Institute actively contributes to economic debates by disseminating the results of its research programs.
