Network for Greening the Financial System

Quick description

The Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) is a network of 114 central banks and financial supervisors that aims to accelerate the scaling up of green finance and develop recommendations for central banks’ role for climate change. The NGFS was created in 2017 and its secretariat is hosted by the Banque de France. Its current chair is Ravi Menon, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. There main works concenr recommendations for central banks and supervisory authorities, climate scenarios sharing and usability and the creation of a data directory regarding main climate subjects. 

The NGFS Scenario Portal is already used by several financial practionners. 

The NGFS Data Directory is available in a “beta” version. The current version is static but the goal is to develop a collaborative directory in a second version of the tool.
