Green & Sustainable Finance Research Programme

Scientific project

The objective of this Programme is to boost the profile of the French academic establishment in the field of green and sustainable finance, to mutualize the research effort among its institutions while expanding its financial resources and to make sure that the most critical research issues driven by these new emerging challenges are properly addressed, in coordination among the institutions and with the financial industry, and communicated to a large audience. The Programme also aims to back up and inspire the regulatory bodies as opposed to influencing them. Such objectives require narrowing the gaps between programs, research agendas and analytical methods as well as enhancing skills to reach practitioners in order to allow an impact on their processes, their governance as well as financial tools and instruments.

To achieve this goal, the first steps being implemented are:

  • Overview of the existing research programs, on an interdisciplinary basis, to evaluate their connection to
    sustainable finance.
  • Integration of existing mainstream financial research programs with a view to greening them.
  • Identification of the critical academic gaps with a view to fill them either through existing or new initiatives.
  • Setting up of the Green DataLab with the aim of building a consistent data framework to support all research
    initiatives.
