Summary In my dissertation, I use recent methods of applied microeconometrics to assess the impacts of major events (Fukushima Daiichi disaster, Olympic Games), infrastructure (urban land use, wind turbines), and institutions in educational systems) on individual well-being, health, and behavior. Throughout my papers, I use longitudinal household data, in part merged with highly detailed spatial data, while paying particular attention to identifying causal effects.
