New Report: Financial sector’s path to global climate goals

How can we measure the climate trajectory of the financial sector as a whole?
While numerous methodologies exist to assess the alignment of individual institutions or portfolios, a consolidated, sector-wide perspective is still largely missing.

This new report, co-authored by Climate Arc, the PARC Foundation of the Institut Louis Bachelier, and ADEME, offers an initial framework to explore methodological options for assessing the collective alignment of financial actors with the goals of the Paris Agreement. It is based on The Alignment Cookbook 2, while focusing on the specific challenges and requirements of a consolidated assessment.

By shedding light on the issues of coherence, transparency, and interpretability of such assessments, the report highlights the critical role of the financial sector in tackling climate change.
